Director of Sales, Eastern Region

Linkstorm is seeking a Director of Sales, Eastern Region, reporting to the VP of Sales, to close an existing list of blue-chip prospects (major advertisers, agencies, and web publishers/portals), build a pipeline of new business opportunities and drive significant revenue for the company in this territory. The role demands a dynamic, confident, aggressive, results-oriented individual with a consultative approach and keen focus on the customer.

Linkstorm is an interactive technology company with a product that dramatically improves the performance of online advertising campaigns. We overlay cascading menus onto any creative unit, which provides users with deep links to a client's site. When a user rolls over the creative (banner, button, video, text link, module), Linkstorm menus appear. This is a huge benefit to the advertiser as it helps communicate much more information in a single piece of creative. It also creates a better user experience as it eases navigation and helps users find what they are looking for faster which improves CTRs and conversions. Linkstorm will change web advertising as we know it today.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize revenue for the company
  • Engage senior level clients and agency decision makers
  • Develop a territory plan and aggressively prospect, evaluate and identify best opportunities
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments with prospects
  • Create winning sales strategies and proposals
  • Drive prospects quickly to close
  • Accurately forecast revenue growth
  • Work closely with Linkstorm Account team during and after the sale
  • Represent the company at industry events/conferences and be a positive ambassador for the organization

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years work experience
  • 3+ years calling on agencies/clients in the online space, ideally for a media or advertising technology company
  • Strong track record of closing business
  • Deep understanding of industry trends, technologies and pricing models
  • Consultative sales style
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and watertight follow up
  • Proven communication, presentation and listening abilities
  • Superior prospecting, negotiating and value-selling experience
  • Self starter, hands-on, creative thinker
  • Experience in sales management is a plus (can move into player-coach role over time)
  • BA/BS required

Location

On-site in our Manhattan office located in the Flatiron District.

Compensation

50% base, 50% commission (at 100% of target), no upper limit on commissions, stock options.
