Product Director — Social Media

Linkstorm is seeking a hands-on Product Director to lead the extension of our company's products in social media applications. The person in this role will develop products, from concept through launch, working with many key players in and out of the company. The initial product is a widget-like application relating to online personal IDs, social networking, blogging, user generated content, content syndication, viral marketing, mash-ups, wikis, etc.

The ideal candidate is imaginative, disciplined, and wants to join an innovative, growing company with distinctive technology that works with notable clients.

Responsibilities

  • Convert input from internal and external sources into concrete product definitions for implementation by design and engineering teams;
  • Create and manage product roadmap, communicate features to marketing and sales teams;
  • Identify market trends and contribute to product and business strategy and budgets; and,
  • Assist in trouble-shooting post-launch issues and liaise with key players.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 5+ years product development and delivery-- you must have a proven track record from concept to launch;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Strong, strategic thinker with problem-solving and consensus-building skills; and,
  • Entrepreneurial spirit wrapped in a process-oriented work-style.

Non-Required/Plus Skills

  • Personal interest in existing social media applications
  • Previous client interaction experience
  • Familiarity with rich media
  • Knowledge across functional areas — product management, engineering, design, marketing, operations, etc.

Work Location

On-site in our Manhattan office, located in the Flatiron District.
